App Development · Zavora Digital

An app is something you hold. We build them like that matters.

Not a wrapper. Not a thin shell around someone else's product. A tool that fits in the hand, works when the signal drops, and earns its place on a home screen. Read on
01Before we go further

Every app begins with one moment.

Not the stack. Not the framework. The moment someone opens it — half-awake, on a slow connection, one hand free. Everything we build is measured against that person, in that moment. Get the rhythm right, and every decision after it gets simpler.

02In the field

Held, not demoed.

Every app we ship is photographed in the hands of the people it was built for. Nothing on a shiny mockup. Nothing pretending to be real.

03What we build

Eight kinds of app.

Read in order, or skip to the one that sounds like yours. Every one of these is a room we know how to build.

01

Fintech

Money that moves when someone asks it to.

A wallet, a card, a way to send money — built so the balance is the first thing you see and the last thing you worry about. Everything after it is one glance, one tap, done.

What you get: wallet and card surfaces, send and receive flows, transaction history, KYC onboarding done quietly, statements you can export.

02

Delivery

From door to door, tracked the whole way.

One map. One order. One honest estimate. The parcel lives in the app — not in a support queue, not in a phone call, not in "we'll let you know."

What you get: customer app, rider app, live dispatch dashboard, honest ETAs, proof-of-delivery on both sides, receipts that arrive on time.

03

Health

Care that fits in the pocket.

A clinic in the hand. The appointment lives beside the prescription, which lives beside the record. Nothing hidden, nothing lost, nothing to remember by heart.

What you get: patient app, doctor portal, appointment system with quiet reminders, encrypted records, and an archive you can export without asking us.

04

Learning

Knowledge, on the go.

A classroom that fits in the hand. Lessons are short. Progress is visible. The next step is one swipe away — never buried behind a menu, never behind a paywall you forgot about.

What you get: learner app, teacher view, offline lesson downloads, progress that syncs across devices, certificates that mean something.

05

Commerce

A store that fits in a hand.

Browse, decide, buy — three steps, always. One aisle you walk down, not a maze you get lost in. The cart never empties by accident, and it never forgets what you left in it.

What you get: shopping app, catalogue, order tracking, receipts, push notifications you control, admin for stock and pricing.

06

Field Ops

Work, wherever the work is.

Built for someone standing in the sun, holding a phone in one hand, on a connection that comes and goes. Big targets, big type, no fuss. It works anyway — and catches up when it can.

What you get: field app for jobs, notes and photos; supervisor dashboard; offline queue that never loses work; GPS that works without data.

07

Community

People, kept close.

A quiet room, not a stadium. The people you care about, in one place, without a feed deciding what you see. What you open, you came for.

What you get: member app, private groups, direct and group messaging, events, simple roles, and posts in the order they happened.

08

Utility

One app, many jobs.

One app that does twelve things well, instead of twelve apps that each do one thing badly. The home screen rearranges itself around how you actually use it.

What you get: modular layout, self-contained tools, offline support, system integration — widgets, share sheet, shortcuts — and settings that follow you.

A small belief

A good app disappears. You open it, you do the thing, you put it down. That is the whole ambition.

04How we work

Six things we do on every app.

Whatever kind of app you saw above, these are the habits that shape it. Nothing clever — just a way of working that keeps things honest.

  1. 01

    Start with one hand.

We design as if the person using the app is standing, holding the phone in one hand. Everything important sits within thumb reach. Anything that doesn't gets reconsidered.

  2. 02

    The first ninety seconds.

If someone can't reach the value in a minute and a half, they close the app and don't come back. We design for the first session — not the fifth.

  3. 03

    Offline is the baseline.

Signal drops. Data runs out. Battery dies. A good app works anyway and catches up when it can. This isn't a feature — it's what "working" means.

  4. 04

Platform is a decision, not a default.

Native, cross-platform, or web — decided before a line is written, based on what the app actually needs to do. Not what's fashionable this year.

  5. 05

    Push is a promise.

A notification is a promise you made to someone. We only send one when it earns its place — and when the person on the other side would agree it did.

  6. 06

    Updates that don't break trust.

No forced restarts mid-task. No broken flows. No "what happened to my data." The app improves quietly. The person using it never notices the seam.

05What we build on

Tools that don't lock you in.

Every app we hand over runs on infrastructure you own, can log into, and can move without us.

App framework Expo

One codebase, two app stores. Build iOS and Android together without giving up native access when you need it — and ship updates without waiting on someone else's review queue.

Data & backend Supabase

Postgres-native backend. Your data lives in real, standard SQL you can inspect, export, or move to any other host without asking us for anything.

Performance & security Cloudflare

The invisible layer. Speed, security and resilience running under every API we ship. It's why our pages answer fast in Kampala and everywhere else.

Privacy tested Brave

Where we check that the web surfaces inside your app behave the same for everyone. If it works here, it works everywhere that matters.

So — what are we building first?
